Comfort dogs do amazing work. And with all of the support they dole out to others, it’s only fitting that they get a super-soft place to rest at the end of a long day. So when K-9 Comfort Dog Ministry of the Lutheran Church Charities of Northbrook, Illinois, sent two teams to the survivors, first responders, and dispatchers of the nightclub tragedy in Orlando, Florida, another group stepped in to make sure the pups themselves were equally cared for – the eco-friendly Carolina Pet Bed Company.
With their natural soy foam inserts and 100-percent recycled fiber fill, the Carolina Pet Bed cushions are as green as they are cozy. Manufactured by a company that supports suppliers certified in sustainable practices – the better to preserve the world’s forests – the Pendleton Pet National Park Beds have a classic by-the-campfire aesthetic and come in four different sizes ($99-$169).
It’s easy to imagine any outdoorsy dog settling into one after a day of hiking through the woods. And with six being recently donated to the comfort dogs in Orlando, it’s good to know that all the compassion and respite these animals provide is fully appreciated, especially by a company with such an admirable focus on doing business the eco-conscious way.
