A Decade Honoring the National Parks

Normally, National Park Week is celebrated in April, but this year it was moved to August to line up with two huge milestones: the National Park Service turning 110, and the country marking 250 years of independence.

We've had a reason to celebrate the National Parks for a lot longer than a week. Since 2015, Carolina Pet Company has partnered with Pendleton Woolen Mills on a collection built entirely around them, and every piece sold has quietly funded restoration work in the National Parks.

A Decade Honoring the National Parks

The National Park Collection is where our Pendleton Pet partnership began. Pendleton had spent a century and a half weaving the blanket patterns that came to define their American style. Carolina Pet Company brought a decade and a half of building beds that pets (and their humans) love. In 2015, the two came together, creating the National Park Pet Napper: The Pendleton National Park blanket translated into a pet bed. Year over year, the collection has grown into what it is today: beds, collars, leashes, apparel, and crate throws, each one carrying the same National Park stripe pattern found in Pendleton's iconic blanket collection.

Even though the offering has changed, just as it started, every pattern in the collection is pulled directly from Pendleton's National Park blankets, rendered in soft, durable fleece for comfort and daily wear.

Every Bed, Leash, and Apparel Item Gives Back

But this collection doesn't just look good. A portion of every sale from the National Park Collection goes to the National Park Foundation, the official charity of America's National Parks, to help fund restoration projects in the National Parks.

$166,583.23 That's what Carolina Pet Company has contributed to the National Park Foundation since the partnership began in 2015, part of the more than $2.4 million Pendleton and its partners have raised together to fund critical restoration work across the National Park System.

Pick Your Park

Currently, six National Parks are represented in the collection, each carrying its own stripe pattern and color story from Pendleton's own National Park blanket line.
