Brother Wolf Animal Rescue Ravaged by Hurricane Flood Waters

Hello friends. I wish this was a more positive message. But alas, though the storms are over, the chaos caused by Hurricane Helene is still raging strong. While many homes and businesses have been destroyed, so have many animal shelters in the area.

Brother Wolf Animal Rescue has been a CPC friend and collaborator for many years. Their shelter has been completely leveled. Luckily, all of the animals were evacuated prior to the storms to foster homes and other situations.

They want to rebuild as soon as possible to get their animals back and start adopting out again. To help fund their rebuild, we will be donating a portion of our sales starting October 1st, 2024, until further notice.

If you would like to help them more, I am copying their post from their website here:

I am writing to you with tears pouring down my face. The emotions from the last few days are bearing down on me. It doesn’t feel real yet – it feels like a nightmare.

If you haven’t heard the devastating news, Hurricane Helene decimated our region. Neighbors have lost their lives, entire buildings have been washed away, and communities that were vibrant a week ago are nothing but rubble. We are broken. We are isolated without power, water, or consistent cell coverage.

Brother Wolf has been completely devastated. We have lost all physical assets. We lost our shelter, a building that has saved hundreds of thousands of animals since 2007. It’s now a disaster zone.

All of our animals were evacuated prior to the storm hitting and are safe thanks to our beautiful community. The heart of Brother Wolf is not a building; it’s all of us coming together to impact both people’s and animals’ lives in a positive way.

We will rebuild in a new location in Asheville. We are the only lifeline for thousands of animals every year, and this is the time when they need us the most. This is the time when we need YOU the most, more than we ever have before. With you by our side, we can move through the grief of this catastrophic setback. We can’t do it alone.

We need monetary donations and we need them now. We know that you understand how critical our lifesaving work is and that it must continue.

Once communication improves and resources become available, we’ll be mobilizing to set up temporary headquarters for our daily operations so we can continue to support animals in need and their people in our region.

We can’t thank you enough for standing by our side during this incredibly difficult time, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

With gratitude and hope,
Leah Craig Chumbley
